My Favorite Crochet Needles - Boye Review
The first crochet needle I ever used was an aluminum one I got from the craft aisle in Wal-Mart. Since then I have used wooden needles, glass needles and even ergonomic needles with handles but I've always come back to what I started with, Boye.
It was a 5.00 mm needle and I used it for everything. I didn't know anything about gage back then but luckily, most crochet patterns in books commonly sold in craft stores use a 5.00mm hook. I made many projects since then and I still stand by this needle. I think I lost the original but Wal-Mart has a set of Boye needles in a pink case (I have only ever seen the pink case) that you can get fairly cheaply. If you think you are going to be interested in crochet and it's going to be a hobby you do for a while just get this case.
