My Entry to Lawn Fawnatics Challenge – Card Sets
Happy joyous Sunday, everyone. Today I am submitting my first challenge ever and it's for Lawn Fawn. I love working with their stamps and all their images are so cute and appealing. To make this set I used the 'Oh Snap' mini set from Lawn Fawn. It features two gingerbread men, one smiling and one sad fella with his foot snapped off.
I wanted to have two happy gingerbread men holding hands so I used some scrap to make a mask of the man and stamped him twice on each one of my 2-1/2" white circles. Under each of the men I stamped a sentiment from the 'Tiny Tag Sayings' set. I colored each man using E6 to outline him, E16 as my blender and color wall and E17 to fill in the gaps and add depth to the men. I whipped out my white Uniball gel pen to make the icing swirls.
The cards are asymetric gatefolds. I cut a piece of 8-1/2" x 11" piece of paper in half the long way and used one of my halves to make the cards. I then scored the paper at 3" and 7-1/8" and folded them. The lovely lace feature behind my gingerbread men was made with an EK Success Doily Punch that I stamped five times for each card. I glued down a second black circle behind the gingerbread men to hide the back of the other black circle.
Next I made a matching black box and matted the top with the colors of my cards. I added a black piece again and heat embossed 'For You'.
It was really fun to design and make this card set from scratch. If you are interested in any of the materials I used look at the list below or check out my stash for more sources.
