Masculine Spring Card: Pink and Main Challenge No. 29, Entry 2
I had so much fun making the card for my first entry to the Pink and Main challenge that I had to do a second one. This time around I wanted to do something a little more masculine than the first one.
I thumbed through my stash and found this wood grain embossing folder from Darice that was still in the package. Imagine that. Finding that embossing folder really inspired the rest of the card. I ran a cream piece of cardstock through my Spellbinder inside of the embossing folder. I cut it down to 4 inches by 5-1/4 inches and glued it to a piece of 4-1/4 inches by 5-1/2 inches brown card stock.
I had some gold foil cardstock around but I didn't want to cut a full new sheet. Luckily, I had some from an earlier project and it was already the size that I wanted it to be. I then found another piece of brown cardstock cut it down to size and matted it on top of the gold foil.
The last step was actually stamping my image and I'm going to let you in on a secret- I cross contaminated my brands!!! Oh, no!!!! But, yes, I did. I don't have a lot of stamps in my collection right now and that makes it easy to keep in mind what I have. The bird came from the Sizzix 'Birds and Phrases' stamp set and the little tufts of grass came from the Stampendous 'Seaside Chair' stamp set. I knew that the bird and the grass would pair well together so I went for it. I used Walnut Stain Distress Ink to stamp them before I glued it down with my glue runner.
I hope you like that card as much as I enjoyed making it. All the materials I used are in the list at the bottom of the page.
