Dry Embossing on Cards

Dry Embossing on Cards

Hello, Crafters! Today I am discussing dry embossing on cards. If you are like me you may have a ton of embossing plates that you don't use often. I like to blend and play with ink so much that adding texture with embossing isn't something that I think to do often. I want to change that up. I'm going to have list at the bottom of the page of the materials I used for this card so you can get them too if you want. (Affiliate links used).

I pulled out my Darice Damask embossing folder and used it on a piece of black cardstock from my stash. I cut the paper to fully cover my card front and glued it down. I used a few pieces of card stock and I still have some later for future cards. I still have some paper from my Owlsome Crafts kit and wanted to incorporate a design from there, I think this picture of Alice reading a book under a tree is perfect.

I didn't want to just paste her down. I went through my stash and found my Spellbinder Renaissance Tag Two die set and knew that that was what I needed. Using gold card stock, I ran it through my Spellbinder Platinum 6 and out popped my gold renaissance tags. [Use this link to  get 10% off select Spellbinders products].

I used the oval die in the set to cut out Alice and pasted her in the tag. That's it. The card it done. I could add a banner later across the front but I'm going to keep it plain for now until I have a purpose for it.

Below are links to some of the supplies I used to make this card. I use affiliate links which means that I get a small commission when you use my links. This does not increase the cost of your products but it does help me keep this blog up and running. See my disclosure for more details.
