Hello, Crafters. I hope you are having a great day. I am submitting new cards to complete the Easy Ink Blending class for the Altenew Educator Certification Program. One of the modules is about faux watercoloring where you use ink blending to get the look of water color. I wasn’t too fond of watercolor techniques at first but the class made me change my mind about watercolor completely. I will definitely be doing more of it in the future.

I wanted to make the same card but but have two totally different feels to it, so the first card uses only Fired Brick and Wild Honey Distress Oxides with champagne embossing powder to create a two toned Autumn-y look. The second card uses the Altenew Lavender Fields and Midnight Violet inks, Memento Bamboo Leaves and Cottage Ivy Inks and Faded Jean and Salty Ocean Distress Oxides with silver embossing powder to create a colorful and Spring-y feel. For both cards I did some spatter with Perfect Pearls using Perfect Copper for one card and Perfect Pearl for the other.
I did all the stamping on Strathemore watercolor paper which I cut down to 4 inches by 5-1/4 inches card fronts. I adhered them to my 110 lb card bases using TomBow Extreme adhesive. When you are gluing something as heavy as watercolor paper you definitely want to use something extreme.
Thank you for reading today. I normally like to do video tutorials but my area is forecasted to get a lot of wind and rain from Hurricane Florence and I just didn’t have the time this week with all the hurricane prep.
