Ink it Up
Happy Craftersday, everyone! Today I am sharing another Altenew card for the Altenew Educator Certification Program. The class I took this week focused on different ways to use your ink pads. There were a lot of different ways to use your ink and stamping supplies that I honestly just never thought to ever do. It was a fun course for me and I think you would have fun taking it as well.
If you have never taken an online card course or any online course for any of your leisure activities, don’t worry because you are not alone. I used to think that you could find anything you wanted on YouTube or Google but you can’t get the personal knowledge and experience of a long time crafter by searching YouTube. What I like about the Altenew classes that I have taken is that there were at least 2 or 3 facts that I would never get just by watching YouTube videos alone. The irresistible inking class is perfect first timer class with a low price point packed with fun techniques.

To make this card I used the Morning Glory, Morning Glory 2 and Fireworks mini stamp sets. Using the flower outline stamps I made a small bouquet masking the stems and heat embossing using detail silver powder.
I painted the stamps to look like Heavenly Blue Morning Glories in blues (Altenew Galactic Stream) and violets (Altenew Midnight Violet). Using my Tombow Blending Palette I mixed my inks with different amounts of water to get various shades of color using a round #6 paint brush. I could have done the same technique with my acrylic blocks but the palette was closer. This technique was in class two, Painting with Inks.
I set the paper to the side and let it dry. In the mean time, I cut down some light purple card stock and inked up the long sides which was a technique shown in Lesson 1 Direct to Paper Inking. Next, I stamped the ‘celebrate’ sentiment in Aqualicious ink between my two lines. My painting was nice and dry so I cut it down, did more direct to paper inking and adhered it to my card.
Thanks for reading. I’ll be submitting this card for certification. I’ve linked to the products used at the end of this post. Don’t forget to subscribe for email updates. Have a nice day.
