You’re My Shining Star Card
Happy Craftersday, Crafty People! Today I’m sharing a Valentines Day card that’s not so pink and red.
I start with an A2 sized white card base. Next, I use some washi to partition off where I want to do some ink blending. My two suggestions are to use wide washi so you don’t blend over the lines and to un-stick your washi a little. Washi is already low tack but it’s still strong enough to pull up the surface of your paper when it’s time to remove it. Ask me how I know.
Now I will use my Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool to create a pink-purple gradient in Festive Berries, Wilted Violet and Seedless Preserves. I had to build the color up using a lot of ink and blending so I let this dry for about an hour before I got back to it.
Remove the washi very carefully. If the washi did it’s job then there should be a crisp clean line between the ink and the white space.
Next I die cut some vellum in a circle. Using my Lawn Fawn Upon a Star stamp set, I’ll stamp the big fox and big bunny and color them using my Copics and a few other alcohol markers.
Unfortunately I didn’t get the die to this set so I’m just going to fussy sut these out and put them on my card.
I had one glue spot shoing through my vellum that I wanted to color so I stamped one of the larger stars, colored it and put it down with the little comet trail and I was done.
Thank you for being here with me today. I had so much fun making this card. All the supplies are linked below and if you liked what you read today, subscribe to the blog using the form at the bottom of the page and share this post on social media. Have a great day everyone!
