DIY: Paint with Water Coloring Book

DIY: Paint with Water Coloring Book

Hey, everyone. Today I'm bringing back a fun activity from the past, Paint with Water coloring books. I haven't seen any in a while and I was inspired to make this while using my Distress Crayons. The best thing about this is you can use stamps that are already in your stash. The only thing you have to have are the distress crayons. If you don't have any, try this visual link to shop with Scrapbook Pal.

My book is going to a special friend in the mail so I made it to fit in an envelope. My exact size is 4-1/2" by 5-3/4", this should give her enough paper to trim on the sides if needed. You can cut yours to any size you like. The images that are going to be colored are coming from some of my favorite stamp sets and I'll link those below.  This part is pretty self explanatory so I'm going to show you some examples in my Pinterest board below. Just stamp your image on your water color paper using your black ink. I'm using Versafine Onyx Black.

The next part is the magic and what makes this project special. At the bottom of the page I colored in two big circles using my distress crayons in colors that I thought would be relevant to the image. When the recipient gets the coloring book, all they have to do is use a wet paint brush or a water color brush to wet the distress crayon color well to lift some color and paint their picture however they like. This works because Distress Crayons dry when left alone but the color will move again once wet. See this tutorial in action in my YouTube video below:

I hope enjoyed this project. Tag me on Instagram or use the hashtag #CornerstoneCreate to show me what you made. I'll add those to the Pinterest board to share with everyone.
